We develop and produce inclusions, decorations and toppings, which remain stable in both extremely high and low temperatures, providing moisture barriers, long shelf life and cost-effective solutions for food manufacturers. Our specialist products can work in any environment, be it ambient, chilled or frozen.

Today, our inclusions are used in a variety of sectors, such as bakery, confectionery, desserts, ice cream and snacks.

Meadow inclusions


Established in 1996, we are one of Europe’s leading innovators and manufacturers of inclusions. We operate from five production lines at the 50,000 square foot facility in Dolgellau, North Wales. Each line is adapted to manufacture a specific product type, which has enabled us to hone our machinery and develop the expertise required to produce a wide product range. These comprise of a chocolate coating line, barrier coating line, honeycomb line and two high boil lines which product caramel, fudge, butterscotch, toffee and crocant.

Sweetened condensed milks and chocolate crumb

Sweetened Condensed Milks 

Sweetened condensed milks are used by the finest confectioners to produce toffee, caramel, fudge and similar products. The manufacturing process is highly temperature-sensitive and requires just the right ingredients. It is produced by adding refined sugar to milk, which is then evaporated up to 73% solids. Meadow can supply sweetened condensed milk (8% fat) and sweetened condensed skimmed milk (0.5% fat) packed in bag-in-box, drums, pallecons and bulk tankers.

Chocolate Crumb

Chocolate crumb is a compound ingredient for making dairy milk chocolate as well as a range of chocolate flavoured products. It is the secret ingredient that gives British milk chocolate its distinctive taste. It’s made from a blend of sugar, milk and cocoa liquor which, when vacuum-cooked, can be dried and milled to form a powdered crumb product. This crumb can be quickly and economically incorporated into the manufacturing process. Meadow can provide a variety of crumb strengths and in 2021, we also acquired FLOCERT Certification, which allows us to produce Fair Trade 13% cocoa liquor chocolate crumb for use in Fair Trade milk chocolate.
