Meadow's partnership with Ben & Jerry's environmental results
CASE STUDY
Ben & jerry’s

Meadow has partnered with Ben & Jerry’s since 2020, as an extension of its existing relationship with Unilever.

The Challenge

Ben & Jerry’s Caring Dairy programme supports farmers to improve their sustainable practises, such as grazing cows for 120 days. Meadow was asked to recruit UK farmers to the Caring Dairy programme through its network.

The Solution

Working closely with Ben & Jerry’s, Meadow set up facilities for segregated supply, ensuring the Caring Dairy criteria are met and protected. We supported farmers in setting up their own committee alongside three annual workshops to brainstorm how to meet their goals.

The Results

All farmers have been heavily engaged with the programme and Ben & Jerry’s farms have seen a 22% reduction in CO2. Meadow started with 15m litres of milk supplied to Ben & Jerry’s and today this has grown to 60m litres – all with the lowest carbon footprint in the UK.
