We are proud to unveil the latest addition to our growing plant-based range Plant & Co. The range is produced at Meadow Foods’ Chester site, in a segregated facility, built specifically for plant-based product creation. The recent £5M investment into the site saw Meadow Foods utilise its experience and knowledge to produce high-quality plant-based products that don’t compromise on taste, texture or quality.
The base recipe for the range consists of a bespoke blend of British oats and rice. It has been in careful development for over 12 months and has been specifically created to achieve the right balance across taste and texture whilst remaining low in sugar and lactose free.
Plant & Co is an oat and rice based yogurt alternative available in four flavours: strawberry, raspberry, peach and natural. The product can be bought in 125G and 450G pots as well as 1KG, 2KG, 5KG and 10KG tubs – all 100% recyclable.
With the number of vegans estimated to increase by 132% this year alone, this dairy alternative yogurt comes at the perfect time for the food service industry. Statistics also show that vegans and vegetarians are set to make up a quarter of the British population by 2025.* Flexitarians are also deemed as an important consumer group too, with 34% of the UK population considering themselves to be flexitarian.**
Mark Chantler, CEO of Meadow Foods, comments: “We’re excited to be releasing our new plant-based yogurt range and we’re looking forward to extending our portfolio to accommodate the dairy alternatives and plant-based market. Dairy continues to be at the core of our business and we are passionate about reflecting the quality of taste from our dairy division, in our plant-based products too.
