Meadow Foods has been awarded the title of ‘The Overall Dairy Company of the Year’ at the dairy industry’s prestigious Farm Business Cream Awards. The Meadow Foods team was presented with the top dairy award at a glamorous ceremony held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham on Thursday 5th September.
The Cream Awards was established to promote and reward excellence across the dairy industry and recognise the thousands of people within farming, dairy processing, marketing, retailing and animal health who contribute to its resilience, profitability and sustainability.
The company was awarded the title for their outstanding work and contribution to the success of the dairy industry by a panel of nine industry expert judges. The judges were particularly impressed by Meadow Foods’ consistent performance, mentioning their growth in both turnover and profitability for the 5th year running, its multimillion pound investments at their processing sites in Peterborough and Chester and their improved communications with farmers and customers.
Simon Chantler, Executive Chairman at Meadow Foods, comments: “It is a great honour for Meadow Foods to receive this accolade, especially in light of the challenging economic and farming climate of the past year. In recent months we have made a number of improvements within the business, and it is rewarding to receive recognition of the positive impact these changes are having on our business, producers and the wider dairy industry.”
