Few may know that January 18th was ‘Get To Know Your Customers Day’. Although we’re not one to jump on the bandwagon of each and every arbitrary national day, here at Meadow Foods we could not help but reflect on the value of getting to know your customers’ needs and expectations that little bit better, and how our new Customer Innovation Centre helps us to achieve this.
Located on our Holme-On-Spalding-Moor site in Yorkshire where we specialise in producing bulk Sweetened Condensed Milk and Chocolate Crumb, at the end of 2017 we were delighted to welcome our first customers through the doors of our new purpose-built facilities.
Our new Innovation Centre includes a state of the art kitchen and meeting room facilities where we can develop new products and work with our customers to tailor our ingredients to meet their food manufacturing needs. This means that we can take the time to learn more about what our customers are looking for in our dairy ingredients in order to create the highest quality, value-added end products for their own consumers, and work with in-house development chefs to perfect and demonstrate this.
The advantages of investing in one’s customers should never be undervalued. We cannot deliver the truly personalised service which we all strive for if customers are merely names on an email or a voice on the end of the phone. Meeting with customers to showcase new products and discuss how these can be uniquely developed is of vital importance, keeping in line with our core values of putting our customers at the forefront of what we do.
Paul Jackson, our Sales Director here at Meadow, comments: “Our new Customer Innovation Centre will enable us to develop, test and showcase our new products. We look forward to meeting our customers’ expectations for a fully integrated NPD function.”
At the heart of ‘Get To Know Your Customers Day’ is, in our opinion, the belief that to move forward as a business, we must always look to our valued customers – and we would certainly say that our new CIC does this.
