Meet our people

Our key management team has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the dairy industry that has helped us to successfully develop and grow. We know that the dairy market is a complex industry, but the approach and insight of our team has helped us to remain a stable milk buyer, processing and manufacturing the highest quality dairy ingredients 365 days a year.

Raj Tugnait

Chief Executive Officer

Raj is responsible for setting direction and culture with the executive team, delivering for colleagues, customers and the shareholders. Raj joined the Meadow team in early 2022, bringing with him over 30 years of senior experience in the food industry with PE and listed companies, including CEO at Sysco Speciality and MD at Brakes Group.

Jack Hancock

M&A & Strategy Director

Jack joined Meadow in 2007 and has led transformation across various parts of the group. Recent roles have included leading the new plant-based division and M&A. With his experience of the business and industry, Jack is responsible for developing the strategic direction of the business through transformational growth opportunities and M&A.

Maria Neeve

Chief Financial Officer

Maria is responsible for delivering the financial planning and reporting for our business, as well as for the company’s IT function. After graduating with a degree in economics, she qualified as an accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Maria has a wealth of established experience in the food industry and before joining Meadow Foods, spent 15 years with Brakes in several roles including Fresh Direct Group CFO and UK CFO. She joined Meadow Foods in 2020 to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer.

Pamela Harrison

Group Operations Director

Pamela is responsible for our three factories, ensuring they are productive, co-ordinated and best in class. Working closely with site directors and group managers, she divides her time between our production sites, developing and sustaining the operational progress made over recent years. She joined the business in 2008 from Nestlé, where she worked for more than 20 years in quality and technical roles as well as in processing, packing and milk procurement.

Jim Bebb

Supply Chain Director

Jim is responsible for our milk procurement and logistics department. A graduate of the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, he has worked in the dairy industry for 22 years, joining us in 2007. Since then, Jim has developed the producer milk pool from 150 farmers with 120 million litres to more than 650 producers with 650 million litres. Jim also manages all of our logistics and supply chain, an integral function in the business.

Gary Apperley-Sheppard

Commercial Director Milk Solutions

Gary is responsible for sales and purchases of third-party bulk milk across the business, as well as sales of skimmed milk concentrates. He has more than 35 years’ experience in the dairy industry, initially working for the Milk Marketing Board and Unigate before joining us in 1999.

Jamie Barrell

Commercial Director Butter & Butter Oils

Jamie is responsible for procurement and sales of bulk creams across our business. He also has responsibility for the sales of anhydrous milk fat and butter produced at our Chester site. He joined us in 2000 from Unigate where he was responsible for dairy trading for more than a decade.

Andy Smith

Director of Speciality Ingredients

Andy is responsible for our Commercial, NPD and Marketing departments, focusing on customer innovation and identifying new markets for business growth and has over 20 years’ experience working in the food industry.

Lorraine Hammond

Group HR Director

Lorraine joins the business as newly-appointed Group HR Director across all sites and will oversee day-to-day operations as well as talent acquisition and people development. Lorraine brings more than 20 years of experience in providing HR support to global SMEs and private partnership organisations, implementing strategies to suit corporate visions. She will help to drive Meadow Foods forward in recruiting and retaining the very best talent.

Caroline Brown

Head of Planning & Change

Caroline joined the business in March 2022 and is responsible for driving the strategic priorities and the successful implementation of transformational change projects. She has a wealth of food industry and management consultancy experience.
