National Baking Week

National Baking Week

National Baking Week is a celebration of the joy, creativity, and tradition that baking brings into our lives. Observed annually during the second week of October, this year’s celebration runs from 14th–20th October 2025. It’s a week that encourages everyone, from professional bakers to home enthusiasts, to roll up their sleeves, try new recipes, and share the simple pleasure of baked goods with family and friends.

At Meadow, it’s also a moment to reflect on the essential role our ingredients play in helping manufacturers create the nation’s favourite baked goods. As one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of dairy and specialist ingredients, Meadow is proud to be supporting food producers across the country.

Our product portfolio for bakers

We understand that successful baking, whether at scale or at home, depends on the quality and performance of ingredients. Meadow’s portfolio covers the full range of baking essentials:

Meadow Milk – high-quality dairy ingredients produced with one of the lowest carbon footprints in the sector.
Meadow Fats – butter, spreads, and specialty blends designed for performance and consistency in baking applications.
Meadow Confectionery – from chocolate crumb to condensed milks that give baked goods their signature flavour and indulgence.

Every product is designed to give manufacturers the tools to delight consumers.

Inclusions: adding creativity and character to every bake

Meadow’s Inclusions range is a key reason we’re present in more baked goods than many people realise. As one of Europe’s leading innovators and manufacturers of inclusions, we collaborate with some of the UK’s best-loved bakery and confectionery brands to deliver pieces that bring texture, punch, and personality to products.

Our inclusions portfolio spans fudge, caramel, honeycomb, sugars, biscuit, cereal, cookie dough, butterscotch, toffee, and crocant pieces, each designed to enhance mouthfeel, flavour release, and visual appeal. These inclusions aren’t just decorative extras, they’re functional ingredients that help create the multisensory experiences consumers love.

Meadow’s innovations give manufacturers the tools they need to differentiate and excite. The same expertise that fuels some of the best-loved brands also inspires the flavours, textures, and ideas that home bakers recreate in their own kitchens.

Through research, development, and close collaboration with our customers, Meadow continues to expand what’s possible with inclusions, making every bake a little more indulgent, distinctive, and memorable.

Meadow’s Bakery Roadshow: expertise on the move

Collaboration comes to life through Meadow’s ongoing Bakery Roadshow. Led by our bakery specialist Karen Jones, the Roadshow brings our expertise directly to our customers’ doorsteps, showcasing Meadow’s bakery solutions, inclusions, sauces, and specialty ingredients, while sharing the latest market trends and consumer insights.

The Roadshow is all about inspiring creativity, sparking ideas, and helping customers stay ahead in a fast-moving bakery market. It’s also a reminder that at Meadow, we don’t just supply ingredients, we build relationships and share knowledge to help our partners thrive.

Baking Week: industry and home kitchens alike

While our expertise lies in large-scale ingredient supply, we know that National Baking Week is also about celebrating the everyday joy of baking at home.

This week, families across the UK will be rolling up their sleeves to make sponge cakes, traybakes, and biscuits, many of which feature the same types of ingredients that Meadow proudly supplies to the nation’s favourite brands. From rich dairy products that give bakes their soft crumb, to indulgent inclusions like chocolate pieces, caramels, and sugars that add flavour, colour, and texture, Meadow is behind more bakes than you might imagine.

The principle is the same in both the factory and the kitchen: the right ingredients make all the difference. Whether developing the next big bakery launch or mixing a family recipe at home, quality ingredients are what turn simple ideas into something truly special.

How to get involved with National Baking Week 2025

While Meadow’s focus is on supplying the food industry, we know that National Baking Week is also about celebrating baking in every form. Here are five simple ways you can get involved:

• Bake something new – push yourself outside your usual repertoire by experimenting with a new recipe or technique. It could be a classic you’ve never attempted before or a modern take on an old favourite.
• Bake together – invite friends or family to bake together and enjoy sharing your tasty creations. Everyone can contribute their own recipe and swap tips.
• Share baking tips – whether on social media or within your local community, share your favourite baking tips and tricks to inspire others to get creative in the kitchen.
• Support your local bakery – celebrate the artistry of professional bakers by treating yourself to something special from a local bakery or patisserie.
• Spread the joy – share your homemade creations with others, from friends and family to community groups, schools, or charities. A simple tray of baked goods can brighten someone’s day.
