25 employees from Chester based Meadow Foods, the UK’s largest independent dairy and leading supplier of milk and dairy ingredients to the food industry, will be attempting the Three Peaks Challenge on the 14th and 15th June to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team will take on the gruelling task of conquering the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in one intense trip. This daring group will set off from the base of Ben Nevis (1344m) in Scotland on Friday afternoon and then head to England to start the second mountain, Scafell Pike (978m) in the early hours of Saturday morning. The challenge will be accomplished once the Meadow Foods team scales Snowdon (1085m) in Wales on Saturday afternoon.
Meadow Foods has supported Macmillan Cancer Support for many years and is aiming to raise a further £15,000 for the charity through support from its staff, suppliers and customers.
David Farrer, Meadow Foods’ team captain comments: “We’ve had a fantastic response from employees wanting to participate in this exciting yet demanding event as we look to raise money for a great charity. Working out the logistics of the challenge was a difficult task, however, planning and training is already well under way.”
