Meadow and Rooted & Booted unite in partnership

At Meadow, we believe that strong communities and thriving natural spaces are essential to a better future. That’s why we’re proud to have formed a partnership with Rooted & Booted – a farm-based day centre for special young people, based in Cheshire, that uses the power of the land to not only grow food, but to nurture and develop young people who can benefit from some additional support.

This is the start of a lasting collaboration grounded in shared values and over the coming months, Meadow will be supporting Rooted & Booted with hands-on volunteering from our employees, their families, and friends, and supporting some of Rooted & Booted’s ongoing infrastructure and sustainability projects.

Rooted & Booted welcomes young people with learning disabilities every week on a daily basis. They are all offered many opportunities to develop their social and working skills, such as teamwork, communication and perseverance, through work-based activities in horticulture, conservation and general farming.  Their “farm troopers” are always encouraged to try new things and are closely supported to improve their knowledge, health and wellbeing and employability.

Laying down roots

We’re supporting Rooted & Booted as it expands its facilities, including a new greenhouse and a future garden kitchen. These spaces will host workshops, communal meals, and educational programmes which will deepen the charity’s impact across the community.

We’re happily contributing our time, energy and plenty of teamwork. Our people will be stepping onto the farm to dig, plant, harvest, and build – learning new skills, connecting with nature, and supporting the incredible work Rooted & Booted is doing every day.
